When did being busy become normal? I could blame technology but I am sure every previous generation could find an excuse to avoid fun and relaxation. The pursuit of my business passion took me coast to coast this week and aside from meeting some amazing new people, it was neither fun, nor relaxing. Like you, anytime I am away from the office, I come back to a big pile of work and lost opportunity. So squeezing in some fun time has to be a priority. Not being entertained kind of fun like Netflix binging, Sports watching or Video game playing...but real fun, with real people, doing real things.
Make it a goal this week to do something fun with someone you love. Carve out some quality time and disconnect yourself from being busy. I am pretty sure whatever it is you disconnect from will be right there when you give it your attention.
Next week I am going to start unpacking the idea of data management and privacy for the insurance industry. We have begun a project at the InsurEco Lab codename "DataPig" which surprisingly has been one of the most fun projects we have started. Let me know what fun thing you did this week after you did it. Don't plan it, don't talk about it...do it!
